The end of the year is bursting with fairs in Paris
Category : Fairs & Trade Shows
Paris has a crispness in the air that heralds the coming of winter, but the city still basks in the warmth of numerous events and trade shows as the year draws to a close. Lovers of boats and water sports, horses and design will all have something to make their hearts beat a little faster during their stay in the capital at the Hotel Pavillon Bastille.
Escape to the world of boats and water sports
From December 3rd to 11th the Nautic Paris Boat Show is held at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre. Bringing together all sectors of the watersports industry in one fabulous trade show, the Nautic is a showcase of everything new and great in the world of boats. This includes sailboats, motor boats, board sports, new technologies, equipment, fashion, leisure ... with a whole range of events offered to visitors. For example, you can try your hand at urban fishing on the quays of the Seine at the first ever Nautic Street Fishing event. And while we’re on the subject of that world-famous river, you can watch - or participate in - the Nautic SUP Paris Crossing, the world’s largest stand-up paddle-board race. Finally, wakeboard lovers can enjoy the spectacle of two competitions held in the Nautic Spot Pool: the Tower Tour and Chicks on Tour.
The Horse Fair, the leading event in France for equestrian enthusiasts
The Salon du Cheval (Horse Fair) opens its doors at the end of November at the Parc des Expositions de Villepinte. This year the largest equestrian show in France is 45 years old and to celebrate will be presenting a series of high-level sporting events during the famous Paris Indoor Horse Competition. Guests can attend various competitions and demonstrations featuring show jumping, dressage, eventing, harness, vaulting, horseball, hunter and Western riding. Key highlights will include the Paris Longines Masters and the World Arabian Horse Championship. What is more, the Cadre Noir and Mario Luraschi will present the Nuit du Cheval, a show combining sport and spectacle which begins on November 26th and continues on Sunday. The Salon du Cheval will have some 450 exhibitors and 2,300 horses in attendance. There will also be a space dedicated to animal well-being and health, organised by the French Veterinary Association.
The art of design in the spotlight
To complete your foray into the major events and trade shows of the season, don’t forget Puces du Design, which takes place from November 17th to 20th at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre. This is, as the name implies, effectively a giant flea market focussing on various forms of design from the 50s to the turn of the millennium, including furniture, fashion, decorative accessories and more. Five different areas of interest are offered to visitors; vintage design, rare and exceptional pieces, contemporary design featuring major brands, vintage fashion, and photographs and lithographs. It’s a major event in the design world, and great fun whether you are browsing or buying!
Whatever your tastes in events and trade shows, you can easily reach them all while staying at your Hotel Pavillon Bastille. From this location in the heart of Paris you can access the various public transport options, including RER, Metro or bus, and get to where you need to be quickly and conveniently.
