Strauss at the Opéra Bastille, an essential comic opera

This spring, the Opera Bastille flies the colours of Germany when it presents Der Rosenkavalier (The Knight of the Rose), the famous three act comic opera by Richard Strauss, from May 9th to 31st, 2016. The career of this brilliant German composer, who died in 1949, spanned the late Romantic and early modern eras. He wrote an impressive number of operas, music for ballets, chamber works, tone poems, lieder and choral compositions, and was also a prominent conductor.

Richard Strauss is regarded as an undisputed master of the operatic form, and Der Rosenkavalier is undoubtedly one of his most popular works, well worth seeing whether you're an opera aficionado or you simply appreciate fine music and a lavish production. You will have the chance to hear the wonderful soprano Anja Harteros, who is back at the Opera de Paris under the baton of conductor Philippe Jordan. Charming walks in the heart of Paris

The City of Light discloses her innermost secrets to those who explore her myriad ways on foot. From our hotel, you can reach the beautiful Marais district in a just few minutes, and discover the trendsetting and creative heart of the capital. This 4.7 km long linear park has been established along the route of an obsolete railway line, and its elevation above the streets allows for striking views of the architecture of Paris, while enjoying the beautifully cultivated greenery that lines the way.
